Born in Miami, Florida, USA.
Lives and works in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Sarah Smitherman is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice consists of material explorations and the inclusion of found objects. She often explores notions of place and impermanence in her work along with the concept of identity. Her work has been displayed in exhibitions within Canada, Europe, and the United States. Sarah’s practice is based in Windsor, but she travels regularly to visit her hometown and hike around the globe. Recently, she has developed and delivered workshops for her local art gallery (Art Windsor-Essex) which encourage the community to explore their surroundings and find inspiration from their discoveries.
