About

Born in Miami, Florida, USA.
Lives and works in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Sarah Smitherman is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice consists of material explorations and the inclusion of found objects. She often explores notions of place, time, memory and identity through her work. Sarah’s art has been displayed in exhibitions within Canada, Europe, and the United States. Her practice is based in Windsor, but she travels regularly to visit her hometown and hikes around the globe to deepen her understanding of place. Recently, she has developed and delivered workshops for her local art gallery (Art Windsor-Essex) which encourage the community to explore their surroundings for inspiration.
